I want to check in with you, because these are obviously unprecedented times for ALL of us.

First, because of the unprecedented spreading of the COVID-19 virus, we will temporarily stop receiving walk-in clients as of Monday March 23rd. We will continue our operations but correspond digitally as some of our staff will be working remotely from home. We feel that we can provide our services efficiently through email, fax and mail services as a temporary solution to our new dilemma.

We ask that you send us your documents by emailing pictures, scans, fax, mail or drop off in our mailbox which we will be collecting routinely during the day. We can email your completed tax return and receive your signature authority digitally. We will of course be answering our phones to provide support as well.

We hope you understand that we must do our part to reduce the spread of this virus. Let’s hope we can all regain our normal lives within a week or so.

Now, some tax news:

This has been the cause of a lot of confusion, so let me make this clear. There are two April 15th deadlines, one for filing the tax return on time and one for paying the tax due on time. The IRS extend the payment for taxes due until July 15, 2020 but has not extended the tax return filing deadline. If you are due a refund there is no penalty for filing after April 15, 2020.

This also affects your quarterly estimated payments (if you pay them) that would normally occur on 4/15/20.

I anticipate the IRS extending the April 15th tax return filing deadline as well but to be safe you should file a six month extension (if you are unable to file on time). Please let us know if we can take care of this for you.

I hope that makes sense.

The main thing I want you to know is, we’re in your corner.

Best Regards,

Steve Kallam
